Review

Finding the right piece of kit that fits your needs is hard and with this piece of kit it’s not any different. In this video I’ll go over the reasons why I choose the warrior assault system falcon chestrig. I’ll go over the features why I like it and why I use it.

Important to know, I use this this chestrig in combo with a battlebelt but that’s for another review.

Why this chestrig?

I use the chestrig/battlebelt combo because it’s a very light and flexible system that can be used in all types of events. The flexibility in my setup is key. Being able to use the pieces of kit in different situations is very important. It saves money and above all, time to make the setup ready for an event.

I like to use chestrigs because it keeps my back open to use different kind of backpacks. It’s all about being as flexible as possible.

If you made the decision to go for a chestrig, there are still a lot of different models out there. You’ve got the micro rigs up to the bulky vest style rigs. The falcon is somewhere in between.

I also choose a chestrig with fixed pouches because I knew what I wanted and when they are fixed it’s more one item. If I had not found this rig, I would have chosen a molle rig with molle pouches to configure it myself.

A chestrig should carry the following items for me.

  • Magazines
  • Radio
  • Some extra space for small items

Features

Pouches

It holds 8 m4 style mags, but if you use the bungee cords you can also hold 4 AK mags. I removed the bungee cords. The mags stay at their place if there are 2 mags in a pouch. I always put my mag back into the empty slot. So I don’t lose mags, but also keep everything organized in my rig. I’m thinking of making some Velcro flaps for it in woodland fabric.

On the sides there are 2 bigger utility pouches. I use them to put in my radio and the other one is used as extra space if needed. Those 2 pouches are the main reason why I choose this rig. Most smaller rigs don’t have those and then you have to give up an mag pouch to add a radio or add extra pouches what makes the rig bulky again. There are loops inside the pouch to  keep things in their spot.

In front of the mag pouches there are 2 smaller utility pouches to add smaller items. I keep this as flat as possible.

The chestrig comes with 2 pistol pouches, but I removed them because I don’t use them. My pistolmags are on my belt.

There is also a large compartement to put in a plate, you can use it to store a map or another flat thing in it. I’m usually not using it because the chestirg is pretty tight to my body and its hard get things out.

Straps

The straps are very comfortable and have some cable managing loops for your headset. The straps have molle straps so you can add your PTT on there. They are also not to thick, so it’s still comfortable to wear a back pack over them. You also have some Velcro on the back to add a patch or whatever.

On the back you have a very big Velcro panel. That can be used to add the chestrig to the recon carrier, if you want to do that.

The fabric is, as with all warrior products, a very high quality fabric that can take a beating. The only thing is that they standard only come in Coyote, Atacs and multicam. got in contact with warrior before I bought it and they said that they will stop the Atacts and did not have it in OD. Come on Warrior, where is the OD? You can do better than this.

I tried spraypainting it but it’s not sticking to the fabric. I’ll have to try something else

Let’s talk numbers,

Well there are not that much numbers to talk about. The price is around 120-130eur depending on the shop.

And that’s why I choose this chestrig. It’s important that you first check what you need before choosing a rig. My kit is practical and flexible and build for the games that I play.
